Advisors

The Advisors that take time out of their busy schedule to bring students to camp are the key to the continuation of the camp. It is through their efforts that the state is willing to support Camp Clements. Having arrived at camp, the advisors are busy day and night in the supervision of their students, assisting with all the activities, and serving as a role model for all campers.

State Department of Education Staff

During each week of camp, the activities of the camp are directed by the appropriate state staff. These personnel are employees of the Tennessee State Department of Education. These people are also usually the specialists working within each of the vocational areas and usually are the people responsible of the group. At times two state supervisors may schedule the same week at camp and work jointly in providing the activities for that period.

Teacher Educators

Teacher educators from the universities in Tennessee also assist in the activities of camp and serve as directors for the week. These people will carry out key responsibilities ranging from registration to setting up and/or presenting leadership sessions. These personnel also assist in the sports and social activities.

Other

Seldom does a week go by that other personnel for the state, even retired teachers and teacher educators aren’t involved in the week’s activities. Camp Clements hosts a variety of dignitaries who come to camp to investigate this unique learning environment, to speak to or to simply visit and observe the group.
