| SAE: | ||||||
| I began showing cattle in 4th grade and developed a love of agriculture which helped me begin my SAE. My SAE is in Diversified Agriculture Production Entrepreneurship. I live and work on a family farm where we have a commercial cow/calf operation. We also raise market hogs for show and resale. My family and I grow and sell vegetable crops and produce our own grass hay for use in our cattle operation. | ||||||
| Favorite CDE: | ||||||
| Throughout high school, I participated in Creed Speaking, Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Soil Judging, Livestock Judging, Parliamentary Procedure, and Prepared Public Speaking. I actually have two favorite CDE’s, Livestock Judging and Prepared Public Speaking. | ||||||
| How You Got Involved In The FFA: | ||||||
| I learned about the FFA through showing cattle and judging livestock in 4-H. I traveled with local FFA members to many 4-H/FFA livestock judging contests. I really became interested in the FFA when my older brother joined as a high school freshman. I noticed the difference that being an FFA member made in his life, and so I wanted to join too. | ||||||
| Most Influential Role Model: | ||||||
| My grandfather is my role model because he taught me about agriculture and the importance of farming, having a good work ethic, and living for God everyday. He worked hard all of his life and he always tried to help others in need and be a man of his word. If he said he was going to do something, he tried his best to do it. Even though my grandfather passed away recently, I will always remember the things he taught me, the memories of the good times we had, and it is my hope that I can live my life at least half as well as he did | ||||||
| Future Plans: | ||||||
| I plan to attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and major in animal science. I hope that one day I will become a large animal veterinarian. | ||||||
| Message To The Greenhand Members: | ||||||
| The FFA is what you make of it, SO MAKE THE BEST OF IT! Become involved in every event that interests you and you will have no regrets. Through hard work and participation, you will gain leadership skills that will benefit you for the rest of your life. | ||||||
| If You Could Travel Anywhere In The World: | ||||||
| I have always wanted to travel to Australia and learn about agriculture over there. Also, I would enjoy seeing the different species of wildlife and the landscapes of Australia. | ||||||
