| During high school I showed market lambs in my chapter’s livestock program as well as serving as the lamb camp coordinator for the sheep exhibitors. I also worked as a scout for the Tipton County Extension Service in cooperation with Tipton County Integrated Pest Management. My duties included, recording insect population, monitoring plant growth and boll retention, as well as providing the farmer and the extension agent with a weekly report of my findings. I believe that this opportunity helped me in the future to be more acquainted with all aspects of agriculture. | |||||
| Favorite CDE: | |||||
| That would have to be Parliamentary Procedure. It teaches you so many lessons like teamwork and thinking quickly on your feet. | |||||
| How You Got Involved In The FFA: | |||||
| I was raised in Memphis, Tennessee where “agriculture” was a word not heard very often. I later moved to Munford, a rural and small community, and knew agriculture was where my heart belonged. I then became very involved in FFA. | |||||
| Most Influential Role Model: | |||||
| My mother, she probably is the most selfless person I know. She always puts others before herself even when she is running on two hours of sleep. She is my hero and I thank her for always being there when I need her. | |||||
| Future Plans: | |||||
| I am currently a sophomore at Tennessee Tech University majoring in agriculture education. I hope to teach at a school that has not had an agriculture program in the past and transform it into a nationally recognized chapter. I feel that if we get more participation in chapters, we can achieve any goal. | |||||
| Message To The Greenhand Members: | |||||
| Never fear the unknown. There is a great big world out there just waiting for you to take it on. Do not be afraid to fail, it only makes you stronger. Keep your head high and dream big. | |||||
| If You Could Travel Anywhere In The World: | |||||
| I would definitely choose Australia. I love their accent and they land is beautiful, but I really want to see a real live kangaroo. | |||||
