Tennessee FFA Association - State Officers - East TN Vice-President

Secretary

Name:   Kelsey Ross
Home Chapter:   McEwen
SAE:

My SAE is Beef Cattle Production. We raise registered Shorthorn cattle on our farm, and I have been showing cattle since I was in the fifth grade. I enjoy working with our cattle so much, and this SAE has really taught me a lot about responsibility.
Favorite CDE:
Definitely Parliamentary Procedure! I participated in this CDE from the time I was a freshman and loved every minute of it. I loved being part of a team that grew to be so close because of all the hours they spent together practicing. The people on the team my senior year were some of my absolute best friends.

How You Got Involved In The FFA:
I am fortunate enough to be the daughter of an advisor, so I really didn't have an option! My eighth grade year I went to national convention and camp, and saw immediately that this organization was really something great. I am so thankful that I had those experiences early on so that I knew to take advantages of opportunities in the FFA later .
Most Influential Role Model:
My parents, each of them have been great examples to me. My mama is the most selfless person I know, and has helped keep me on track a countless number of times. She has never put herself before anything, and I hope that I have the same humility she does. My daddy has made an impact in not only my life, but the lives of so many of his students all of whom he cares for greatly. He always knows how to relate to a situation and gives the best advice.
Future Plans:
I am currently attending the University of Tennessee at Martin, with a major in agricultural education. I hope that someday I can make a difference in FFA members lives like my advisors have in mine.
Message to Greenhand members:
Take every opportunity you have in front of you and make it an experience! Don't leave high school regretting that you didn't take advantage of an opportunity. You never get these four years back, so make EVERY minute count!
If You Could Travel Anywhere In The World:
I would probably go to Ireland. I would love to see the beautiful countryside.
