Tennessee FFA Association - State Officers - East TN Vice-President

West TN Vice-President

Name:   Rebekah Clark
Home Chapter:   Munford
SAE:

My SAE is fruit production. I work with my grandfather on our family farm caring for fruits. We raise strawberries, watermelon, blackberries, and cantaloupe. My duties include watering the fruits, weeding the gardens, and simply looking after the products. We also sell some of the products we produce. When it’s selling season I help to pick the fruits to sell to our customers. Working with the fruits is a very enjoyable experience and I have learned a lot from it.
Favorite CDE:
My favorite CDE is Parliamentary Procedure. I have participated in Parliamentary Procedure for 2 years and was able to compete at Nationals in 2006. This contest has helped me a lot, not only in FFA but also in other organizations. I enjoy learning more about Parliamentary Procedure and I believe it is a wonderful way to learn about how to correctly conduct a meeting.
Most Memorable Moment In The FFA:
My most memorable moment in the FFA was when my Parliamentary Procedure Team won at the state level. Our team had worked so hard in this contest and winning allowed me to see that hard work and dedication did pay off. I was so excited about competing at the National level and I could not keep a smile off of my face. It was a moment that I will never forget.
Most Influential Role Model:
I do not have one particular role model who has made a difference in my life. My role models are all the people who stand up for what they believe in and don’t back down when things get tough. It is not easy to face others and tell them how you feel or what you believe and standing up for what you believe is truly and admirable quality.
Future Plans:
I plan to double-major in Agricultural Education and Agricultural Communications and minor in Spanish. I have always been interested in foreign languages and having a minor in Spanish will not only be beneficial to me in my future career choice, it will also be fun for me to know. I hope to obtain a career in the agricultural field to help promote the field and inform people of agriculture ’s benefits.
Message to Greenhand members:
I know that sometimes things get tough and you may get down. Sometimes when you try something the first time it doesn’t work out the way you plan, but don’t give up. Keep on trying and eventually you will meet the goals you set for yourself.
If You Could Travel Anywhere In The World:
I would travel to Egypt. I have always been interested in visiting the pyramids, the Nile river and other monuments that are in Egypt. I am also interested in the language that is spoken in Egypt and I feel being able to travel there would be a wonderful experience.
