Describe your SAE: I live on a small farm of registered Southdown sheep with my father in Crockett County, Tennessee.  My SAE is Sheep Production Entrepreneurship; my responsibilities include proper nutrition, vaccinations, and general care of my sheep.  I also was active in exhibiting my sheep across the states of Tennessee and Kentucky.
What is your favorite CDE: My favorite CDE is Livestock Evaluation.  Growing up on a farm, I developed a love for agriculture and livestock.  I judged livestock through 4-H when I was younger so I joined the FFA team when I entered high school.  As a sophomore in high school my team won West Tennessee Regionals and advanced to the state contest.  We were fortunate enough to also win state which qualified us to travel to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the national contest.  As a team we placed seventh in the nation and individually I was 4th high individual in Sheep division.  As a livestock producer it is so crucial to be able to examine livestock and look for traits to improve your flock; this CDE provided me with that knowledge, and I have seen success in my flock from the use of the skills I learned.
Most memorable FFA moment: My most memorable FFA moment would be when my fellow regional officers and I presented Greenhand Conference to West Tennessee greenhand members.  I remember my Greenhand Conference as a freshman and how it excited me about the opportunities I had in front of me!  Getting to create that feeling for those new members was one of the most rewarding experiences of my FFA career.
Who is your role model? My role model is my father.  Growing up with an FFA advisor was at times difficult, but I truly believe I would not be the person I am today without his guidance and support.  He instilled both a love for agriculture and a love for the FFA in me and for that I am thankful.  He showed me what the FFA organization could do for me and what I could do for the organization.  His dedication, steadfastness, and diligence are qualities I admire and hope to achieve.
What are your career plans? I am currently a freshman at the University of Tennessee at Martin majoring in Animal Science.  Upon graduation I plan to attend pharmacy school to obtain my doctorate.
If I could travel any where in the world…. I would visit China.  Differences in culture astound me and Chinese culture seems so interesting! The differences in agriculture is another reason I would like to visit and learn more about China!
