Describe your SAE:
My SAE is agriculture education which is comprised of all my FFA activities. This includes career development events, conventions, and any other FFA related activity conducted throughout the year.
What is your favorite CDE:
My favorite CDE is forestry. My family owns a sawmill, and it is very interesting to be able to understand the impact that our small operation has on the forest industry. I also love being outside that time of the year!
Most memorable FFA Moment:
My most memorable FFA moment is when I was a junior in high school, I had the opportunity to sing at the Dixie Stampede. It was definitely something to be up there where only a select few had ever set foot!
Who is your role model?
My role model is my brother. He may be younger than me, but he teaches me something new every day because he sees the world in a different light than a lot of people do. He has taught me to not worry about others' opinions and to take things as they come.
What are your career plans?
I plan to graduate with a degree in agriculture education and become an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor.
What advice would you give to a greenhand?
My advice would be to go find an "FFA mentor." Yes, take advantage of every opportunity presented to you, but I know how intimidating that can be! I had two older friends that taught me a lot my freshman year about FFA and agriculture education, and without them I know I would not have been as involved.
