Describe your SAE:
My SAE is focused on Ag Education. I dedicate up to 20 hours a week organizing programs for my local elementary, middle and high school such as agricultural classes and agricultural tutoring. I hope to spark a passion and respect for agriculture in each student I meet.
What is your favorite CDE:
My favorite CDE is Dairy Evaluation.
Most memorable FFA Moment:
My favorite FFA moment was when my idea to teach agriculture classes to elementary school students was approved by my principal and advisors.
Who is your role model?
I have quite a few role models, but the role model that seems to stick out to me at the moment would have to be my 4th grade teacher, Ms. Connie Norman. Out of all the individuals that I have, met she is one of the only people that truly pushed me to complete a task and become a better person through my down falls. Because of her I was able to begin my Supervised Agricultural Experience. This consisted of agricultural classes at the local elementary school for 3rd and 4th grade students. Not only is she my role model and coach, she is also my friend, and for that I will always look up to her.
What are your career plans?
After earning a degree in Ag Education, I plan to teach and continue my passion of teaching younger generations about agriculture.
What advice would you give to a greenhand?
Get involved as much as you can and do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. You may think that the FFA isn't for you or you can't fit in. Diversity is all around us and I know that the FFA has a place for you. Be excited about the opportunities you will be given and strive for even more. Never forget that the words that are spoken are only blueprints of the actions that are to be taken. If there is ever anyway that I can help feel free to contact me.
